Coffey and Coftec are proud to announce the completion of a modular water treatment plant for Uisce Éireann, who are donating it to Ukraine. The plant will help to alleviate issues with the supply of clean drinking water to the people of the embattled country. Last Friday, representatives from Uisce Éireann, accompanied by Minister of State Anne Rabbitte, visited Athenry to view the state-of-the-art Type A modular water treatment plant ahead of its dispatch from the Coffey site this week.
Over 1.4 million people in eastern Ukraine lack access to safe running water, according to estimates. This donation from Uisce Éireann will help to alleviate this shortage and provide much-needed relief to the Ukrainian people.
The Coffey and Coftec engineering teams constructed the Type A modular water treatment plant inside a 40-foot shipping container, capable of processing 40,000 liters of water per hour. This innovative system incorporates pressure filtration and UV disinfection systems. It stands out as a fully automated unit with remote control capabilities, rendering it an exceptionally efficient and portable solution for delivering clean drinking water in diverse environments.
The pressure filtration system actively eliminates suspended solids from the water. Additionally, the UV disinfection system actively eradicates harmful bacteria and viruses. Finally, the unit boasts a range of sensors and monitoring systems to ensure that the water undergoes treatment to meet the highest standards.
Coffey and Coftec are dedicated to operating in a socially responsible manner. We are committed to benefiting society and the environment. We believe that businesses have a responsibility to give back to the communities in which they operate. Coffey and Coftec are proud to have assisted Uisce Éireann with their donation of this modular water treatment plant to Ukraine. We hope that the modular water treatment plant will make a real difference to the lives of the people of Ukraine.
